Tony Duce, the Chef and owner of the River Brasserie is committed to the use of fresh local produce. He uses Lostwithiel Farmer’s Market together with other local suppliers including Cornish Crab, Charlie Harris Butchers and Richards Fruit and Vegetables to source his ingredients.

Muffins Tea Shop

Muffins serves breakfast, lunch, snacks and Cornish cream teas. All cakes are made on the premises. Muffins uses local produce wherever possible in all dishes. The ploughman’s lunch, made with local Cornish Yarg cheese, is particularly popular, especially when accompanied by local Camel Valley wine


Muffins won Silver Medals in the 2003 & 2005 Cornish Taste of The West Hospitality Awards and the Gold Medal in the 2004 Awards.
Typical dishes on Muffins menu include:

• Ploughman’s Lunch with Kittow’s Ham, Yarg, Davidstow Cheddar or Cornish Blue
• Sausage Baguette - Mr Kittow's famous sausages with Cornish chilli jam on the side, as well as a generous side salad
• Cream Tea featuring home made scones with Trewithen Farm clotted cream and Boddington’s jam
